Yeah I totally suck at these lately! I need to get so much in order and start doing these more on a regular basis. I also need to get back to counting my calories on livestrong again. I would normally do it at work all day but the last few months have been so hetic that I don't have time to do it during work. Then I forget when I get home. Now that things have slowed down just a tad I think I'm going to make sure to do it again.
I have lost tons of inches. Infact I just bought a shirt and a jacket that were 14/16's and well I thought I would get them since they were $10 and save them until I could fit in them. haaaa!!!!! Boy was I suprised when I actually could wear them lol! So that's another size down. I started at 22/24 and now a 14/16 or a 3x and now a 1x or XL... What haaa!!!!! I haven't been that small on top since Middle School or like 12-13 years old haa!!! That was 10 years ago ha! Now if only my lower half would go quicker. That is where I carry the bulk of my weight. I was blessed with hips, thighs and a butt lol! But then I get to thinking yeah I would totally rather be larger on bottom than top! ha!!! No flat butt syndrome for me! My goal now is to be at least a 14/16 in pants or 10/12 by december. Before I go to Disney World. How awesome would that be and my trip would be my treat for myself cause I plan on shopping lots lol! Right now I am in a size 20/22. That would be like 2-3 more sizes! I can do it! Lets cross our fingers lol!
So I'm going to share some before and after pics with you....... fun stuff I tell ya!
This picture just keeps reminding me that I need to get my eyebrows waxed pronto!!!
Just wanted to share with you some new pictures I took. These were taken from the day that I fell and twisted my ankle and almost had a heat stroke lol! Hope you enjoy them! I hate hate hate uploading them to the net! It screws the quality way up! They look soo much better on my computer....
So today I wanted to talk to you guys about HIIT Training (High Intensity Invterval Training)!
First off I want you all to know I've slacked a little... I know I know... but I've only gained about 5 pounds yet I think a few of those pounds were muscle. Why do I say this? Well I keep losing inches and my clothes get loser and so fourth! So I am still not going to worry so much. I would be lieing if I say that it didn't bother me... It does bother me! But you are going to have ups and downs through out your weight loss journey. It's just how you handle them that matters. After all we are making a lifestyle change here. You make a mistake you learn from it and move on making better choices.
So this past week after my fall I decided to step back up and break this plateu and lose some more weight...
I've been researching online for new workouts to do and well I've started doing HIIT.
(HIIT can get very intense and make sure you consult your doctor and don't do more than you can handle.)
For those of you who don't know what this is it's High Intensity Interval Training. What exactly does HIIT do for you? Well Interval Training is a highly effective way of burning fat. Not only that it saves on time! I don't know about you but I'd much rather have a shorter workout than a longer dragged out workout. I for one have a very short attention span and the shorter the better...
Steady state cardio which usually is say 45 mins to an hour of running at about 6mph non stop. This is good, but after awhile your results start to slow and well it's not really as effective to lose the weight anymore. Your body will get use to workouts if you do the same thing all the time and well the progress will slow. How do you break out of this rut? Step it up a bit.
HIIT Cardio last anywhere between 10-30 mins. (wow right!!!) This is an effective way to burn fat because you are doing aerobic and anaerobic. Emphasis on BURN FAT! The whole idea is to work yourself to the point where you are gasping for air. Then go back down and have your breathing return to normal and start over. This shocks the body into using fat to help compensate for the oxygen loss and help restore your breathing. This type of workout can be done with any machine like the treadmill, elliptical, bike, jump roap etc. This workout isn't for the faint at heart. This workout will leave you drained and some for the first couple of times feel like you are going to throw up or pass out. This is ok you will recover just don't over do it. This workout will leave you burning lots of calories up to 36 hours after workout. How amazing is that! For instance I got a Tweet from Chalene Johnson's (turbo jam creator) sister stating that she was still buring up to 4 calories an hour after her interval workout. Now if you add that up thats about 240 calories in an hour of doing nothing. That to me is exciting. Now your calories burned might not be the same, but you get the drift right?
I am going to tell you my HIIT Workout routine.
I use a treadmill (which I am totally scared of by the way lol!) to do this workout. I start out walking on the treadmill at anywhere between 2-3mph for 1-2 mins. I am still a big girl so I don't want to over do it and I'm working my way up. After the 1-2 min warmup I go for my first interval. I raise it to 6mph and do that for 30 secs. Trust me you will get wore out pretty quick. Then I bring it back down to 2-3mph for about 30 secs to a minute however long I need to recover. I do this about 8 times. This usually only lasts me about 20 mins. then for about 10 mins after I do a steady walk or jog. I am going to slowly increase this as I get better. You can do this workout with any equipment you like just adjust to fit yourself. Also only do this 2-3 times a week and the off days do some strength training.
This workout for me is great. I loath running and the treadmill but this workout is so short! After my first week of doing this workout I was soo hungry so I definitely had to up my calorie intake. Also after my first couple workouts I thought I was going to die I felt like throwing up and passing out. But that passed and was wonderful. I will say I have lost 2 of the pounds I gained back in one week and I am sure I will lose more! I am going to post a couple of videos for you guys about it and hopefully if you guys try it you will let me know how it goes. my heart rate stayed between 140-160 with the low intensity and 160-190 with the high intensity for those of you who want to know...
Sorry for such a long post. I suck at writing and I suck at shortening my stuff lol!
